Wizards vs Bulls Odds, Analysis, and NBA Best Bets (1/10)

Coby White Chicago Bulls Spurs Wemby Dunk Poster

The Wizards are the visitors in the Windy City who have won four straight at home. Washington has a four game streak themselves but theirs are losses. Both these teams have bad defensive ratings and play some of the fastest basketball in the association. This should be a fun little mess on a big Friday night of NBA action.

Washington Wizards @ Chicago Bulls

The Wizards are not a good basketball team nor should they be. This front office should be adding draft picks and young talent. The time is coming for them to trade veterans like Brogdon and Jonas Valančiūnas. Poole and Kuzma are fine complimentary pieces that should also be dangled to suitors. It will be a rough rest of the season for the boys from the District of Columbia.

The Bulls are currently in 10th in Eastern Conference and ownership and front office seem content on slipping into the play-in. Whether it’s the pragmatic plan or not, the Bulls are going to win games, and they are going to score points along the way. They have phenomenal guard play offensively that should beat up on a bad and inexperienced Wizards perimeter. Chicago puts up 117.6 points per game, good for fifth in the league, and they score even better at home.

NBA Game Analysis

The Wizards just recently lost back-to-back games to the New Orleans Pelicans. They lost both of those games by a dozen points each. That is all you have to know about Washington. They are trying to lose basketball games. Their rotation is large and inconsistent. They are a difficult team to wager on. The only way they have a chance at beating the Bulls on the road is if one of their players gets hot. With Poole out of this one, it’s hard to gauge who that could be, but with Brogdon out too — someone needs to step up.

Before the NBA season began, considering his contract and injury history, many pundits believed Zach Lavine was an albatross stuck in red in white. Now? He’s shooting career-high 44.4% from beyond the arc. He has had four straight games of thirty-plus points. Whether he’s auditioning for a contender, or content in Chicago, either way he’s been a pleasure for hoops fans.

The Chicago Bulls path to victory is to just score, score, score, and score some more. Zach Lavine and Coby White will be ready to compete after losing to the Wizards on New Year’s day. The Bulls are not a contending team. They have secured their 17-20 record by winning when they should and catching better teams sleeping. This is a situation of the former and I trust them to take care of business at home.

It needs to be noted that this should be a great game for player props. Both teams should have ample opportunity for fire away from deep. Neither team stands out as efficient so there will be rebounds to be had as well. Target players you know will play a healthy amount of minutes.

Carlton Carrington o4.5 Assists (+110)

No Poole. No Brogdon. The rookie has showed flashes of an affinity for facilitating. Without the veteran guards, “Bub” should see an increased role, and that means he will initiate the offence. I lean with this game being high scoring so I trust Carrington to be dishing the rock. If Poole somehow makes his return from a hip contusion then this becomes sweaty. However, I still like this play with or without Jordan in the lineup. The Bulls chase teams off the three point line, they only allow teams to shoot 34% from three, the Wizards will need Carrington’s drive and kick ability.
