Norman Powell o22.5 Points (-120) | BetOnline

At 32 year’s old, Norman Powell was coming off one of his best year’s yet in the NBA. He averaged 21.8 points per game last year for the Clippers, shooting 48.4% from the field and 41.8% from beyond the arc. Powell was traded to Miami in the offseason, in a move that landed John Collins in Los Angeles and Kevin Love in Utah.
Powell’s now averaging 24.8 points per game and doing it on shooting splits of 47/46/94. He’s seeing the highest usage of his career and leads the Heat in scoring this year. Powell’s become the #1 option on this highest paced Miami offense and it’s helping them win games.
Miami plays at the highest pace in the league this year and it’s why they lead the NBA in points per game (124.8). Powell’s seeing a 26.8% usage this year and scoring 29.8% of the team’s points. New York ranks 8th in points allowed but that has more to do with their 21st ranked pace.
The Knicks rank 27th in opponent effective field goal percentage, 26th in opponent 3-point percentage and 28th in opponents 3s per game. Powell accounts for 36% of the 3s made by the Heat and like I said, he’s shooting 46% from beyond the arc. Today’s game also happens to be an Emirates NBA Cup Game.
The Heat currently sit atop their group with a 1-0 record and the most points scored. Another big game tonight against one of their tougher opponents in Group C could go a long way in terms of locking up a spot in the Quarterfinals.
Franz Wagner o24.5 Points (-120) | BetOnline

Franz Wagner has looked fantastic this year. He’s averaging just 22.5 points per game but h’es shooting 47.4% from the field and a career high 36.0% from beyond the arc. The addition of Desmond Bane this year has lead to a little reduction in usage but Franz has looked both efficiency and consistent this year.
Wagner’s scored 20 or more points in nine of the team’s first 12 teams and tonight he’ll be without Paolo Banchero; the team’s leading scorer. In his last 20 games with Paolo, Franz is averaging 26.1 points per game; clearing this line in 12 of the 20 games. He’s taking an average of 20.5 shots per game and getting the line for 6.1 free throws per contest.
The Nets this year have looked terrible, on both sides of the ball. They rank 30th in opponent shooting percentage, 30th in opponet 3-point percentage and 29th in points allowed. Orlando comes into this one as a 13-point favorite and looking to secure their second victory in Cup play.
Wagner’s recorded 29 points in two of his last three against the Nets, so look for the offense to roll through him with Paolo on the shelf.
A.J. Green o2.5 3s (-110) | BetOnline

Green isn’t someone I’ve bet on a lot but he’s been great this year for the Bucks. Green’s in his fourth year in the NBA, he’s started all 12 games for the Bucks and he’s shooting 46.7% from beyond the arc. Usually I’d think that has to come back down to earth, but even if it does; Green’s a career 42.6% from beyond the arc.
Green leads Milwaukee in 3s made, 3s attempted and nearly 100% of his shots are coming from beyond the arc. The kid is taking 6.8 shot attempts per game, 6.3 of those are 3-point attempts. He’s cleared this line nine of his 12 games this year, but just once in his last four. He’s coming off a 1/3 night against the Hornets, a game which the Bucks lost and Giannis didn’t play.
Giannis has missed just two games for the Bucks this year, Green has shot 4/10 in those two games. In games with Giannis in the lineup, Green’s cleared this line in 8 of 10, shooting 48% from the field and taking 6.5 attempts per game.
Green’s cleared this line in 15 of his last 20 games with Giannis; shooting 51% from the field. In 17 games without Giannis, he’s cleared this line just five times; shooting 42% from beyond the arc on just 5.2 attempts per game.
Giannis’ impact cannot be understated.
