This evening, the Suns will look to even things up against the Western Conference’s top seed, as the two teams tangle in Game 4 at the Footprint Center (8:00 pm ET, TNT).

On Friday, Booker went 20 of 25 from the field, including 5 of 8 from three, and recorded 47 points, six rebounds, and nine assists to lead Phoenix to a 121-114 win, as he and Kevin Durant (39 points, nine rebounds, eight assists) outdid Nikola Jokic (32 points, 17 rebounds, 17 assists) and Jamal Murray (30 points, six rebounds, five assists).

Will Booker Dominate Denver Again to Pull Phoenix Even?

As I mentioned in my piece on Game 3, the Suns have done very well this season when Booker has recorded 30+ points and 6+ assists, though they came out on the short end in Game 2 in Denver despite his 35 points and six assists.

Friday’s performance continued that season-long record of success, with the Suns now 12-3 when Booker has gone for 30+ points and 6+ assists. They are also now 4-1 this season when he has recorded 30+ points, 6+ rebounds, and 6+ assists.

Will we see another standout performance by Booker tonight against the Nuggets? Interestingly, he has had 30+ points and 6+ assists in three consecutive games only once this season, which he did at Charlotte, Chicago, and Dallas at the beginning of March.

With Chris Paul still out due to his groin strain, this is as good a chance as any for him to add to that tally. Durant dropped his share of dimes, and Cam Payne, Paul’s replacement in the starting lineup, dished out six assists, but if the Suns are to even up this series, another all-around masterpiece by Booker will be needed against a determined Denver squad.

The Nuggets have been excellent in this scenario throughout the season, so they certainly shouldn’t be written off after falling short on Friday. For the season, they are 20-10 SU and 18-12-0 ATS in games following a loss. Both of those records are second best in the NBA, with the Boston Celtics tops in the former and the Sacramento Kings tops in the latter.

However, it does have to be said that Denver is only 5-11-0 SU as a road underdog this season. Their last SU win as a road underdog was on February 23, when they picked up a 115-109 win at Cleveland as a three-point underdog.

But Denver trailed by just two entering the fourth quarter on Friday, and if they are in the same position tonight, you might not see Nikola Jokic remain on the bench as he was at the start of the fourth in Game 3, during which time the Suns got some valuable and decisive breathing room.
