Brunson played just 31 minutes last game. That number must be driving Thibs insane.
New York Knicks @ Indiana Pacers Game 4 Preview
Unfortunately for the Hoosier State, the Indiana Pacers dropped to 0-4 all-time when playing a game on the same day as the Indianapolis 500, and the Knicks are right back in this series. The boys in blue and gold could have had a strangle hold on this series. However, now the Knicks have gained some confidence after winning the way they did in Game 3.
The Pacers actually held a 20 point lead in the second quarter and led during almost the entire 2nd and 4th frames. The game was incredibly back and forth. There were 10 lead changes and the game was tied at 9 different times. However, once Aaron Nesmith went down, the game started to change. All night the shots were not falling. Then, in the fourth, Karl-Anthony Towns just took the game over. He scored 20 of his 24 points in the final frame of the game.
The Knicks have to be feeling good right now. They accomplished all this while their star and leader was in foul trouble all night. Despite that, Brunson still managed 23 points in 31 minutes. He shot poorly from the field, but was a perfect 10-10 from the free throw line.
Karl-Anthony Towns (20 4th quarter PTS) and Jalen Brunson (23 PTS) helped the Knicks complete their 3rd 20-point comeback of the postseason to win Game 3 on the road!
Will the Knicks even the series at 2-2, or will the Pacers grab a commanding 3-1 lead?

The Big Bodega had 24 points and 15 rebounds leading his team to a big win.
Knicks-Pacers Game 4 Analysis
The NBA gets criticized for blowouts, but fans know that in the modern game no lead is safe. The Pacers have become the embodiment of that sentiment this postseason with their three historical comebacks.
They got some of their own medicine in Game 3. Down 10 heading in the fourth, New York really showed heart. The Knicks path to victory is to slow the game down like they did just a few days ago.
It is not a coincidence that the lowest scoring game of the series was finally the one game they won. They need to force turnovers, and then dominate both in the paint and on the glass. That’s why the Knicks should still have some worry. They aren’t out of the woods yet. They lost the fast break battle 16-2, shot just 43.6% from the field, and lost the turnover battle. However, I really do believe messy games are actually good for the Knicks.
They still need to take care of the ball better though. A total of 15 turnovers resulted in 22 points conceded off of them.
Indiana shot just 20% from three on 25 attempts. Rick Carlisle is a talented coach that will have this team mentally prepared. Some nights are just not yours. The Pacers dropped the ball last game. Simplest way to put it.
However, they need to come out aggressive and play Pacer basketball or this series will be tied. Perhaps most importantly, they need to limit second chance points. Both Mitchell Robinson and Karl-Anthony Towns accounted for a combined 9 second chance points.
Just 2 Eastern Conference players have scored 300+ PTS in the NBA Playoffs:

• Jalen Brunson (448 PTS) pic.twitter.com/V3x4Axfw9D— KnicksMuse (@KnicksMuse) May 27, 2025
Aaron Nesmith’s GTD: Ankle Injury
The young 3 & D wing is a game time decision after getting hurt in the third quarter. Undeniably, he is an important part of their team both offensively, defensively, but also as a tone setter.
If he’s out, Carlisle may look to Ben Sheppard or Bennedict Mathurin to come into the game and play a similar role for the Pacers. If not them, then they’ll go small and we get more TJ McConnell minutes. His three rebounds is plus money at the time of writing.
Key Outlier.Bet Insights
- Mikal Bridges has exceeded 1.5 steals + blocks in nine straight games. This could be a good parlay piece. The Knicks have to force turnovers and him and OG are the ones to do it.
- Ben Sheppard has exceeded 4.5 points + rebounds in four of his last five games at home. If Nesmith is a no-go, then either Mathurin or Sheppard will get a bump in minutes.
- Tyrese Haliburton has failed to exceed 0.5 blocks in five of his last six games at home. Could you imagine betting under one block for -120? That is a dirty sweat.
NBA Best Bet: Indiana Pacers ML (-140)
The Knicks are good and it would be great to see this series extended all the way to seven games. When this series tipped off, I predicted Pacers in 7. However, I think they get the job done faster than that. The moneyline isn’t too juiced, so I’m taking it.
Rick Carlise is 1️⃣ playoff win shy of passing K.C. Jones (81) for 10th all-time 👀
