We’re finally back, the 2024/24 NBA Season officially tips off tonight and we’ve got two great matchups to kick things off. The Lakers are hosting the Timberwolves at Crypto but I’m more interested in the East Coast Game.
It’s Ring Night in Boston and the Knicks are in town hoping to play spoiler. New York made some big changes in the offseason and they’re hoping these are the changes that help them get over the hump.

Knicks @ Celtics Analysis & Breakdown
The season kicks off today and what a game to kick it off with. The Champs are getting their new hardware tonight and it’s the new-look Knicks looking to play spoiler. After all the changes New York made this year, it’s gonna take a little a while to see how this team operates with so many new faces.
New York’s starting lineup this year is going to look completely different. The additions of Karl-Anthony Towns and Mikal Bridges bring in two new starters into this rotation and with it so many more questions about minute distribution.
The Celtics are coming into this one after a full summer of fun. Jayson Tatum, Derrick White, and Jrue Holiday spent the summer winning an Olympic Gold Medal and now they enter this season looking for their 2nd championship in as many years.

It’s Year 5 for Payton Pritchard and it’s shaping up to be a big year for the young point guard. Last year he averaged a career high 22.3 minutes per game and he really came into his own as the Celtics’ 6th man; the first guy off the bench.
Pritchard shot 52.3% from the field last year when playing at home in TD Garden, including 44% from deep while averaging 11.5 points per game. In the preseason Pritchard was averaging 22.1 minutes per game, 16 points and 4.2 made 3-pointers.
He shot an astounding 49% from 3 and he’s taking on average 8.6 3-point attempts per game. It’s just the preseason but his numbers have been promising and with this line sitting this low, I’m ready to climb the ladder.

It’s Point Tatum Szn and I’m so here for it. Last year Tatum averaged a career-high 5 assists per game and we saw him elevate that to 6.3 per game in the post-season and 7.2 in the Finals.
In the preseason this year, Tatum’s averaging 5.3 assists per game in just 24.8 minutes per game. He’s dishing the ball and he looks comfortable doing it.
Last year, Boston had the #1 offensive rating, they ranked 2nd in points per game, 2nd in 3p percentage, and their offense was even better at home. They averaged 123.2 points per game at TD Garden and shot 3% better from beyond the arc.
After what we saw from Tatum in last year’s playoff run and even in the preseason, I’m buying all the Point Tatum stock I can.
