Knicks vs. Bucks | NBA Analysis Odds & Best Bets (10/28)

Both the Knicks and Bucks come into this one off their first loss of the year, both looking to get back into the win column. The Knicks swept the season series last year, winning all three games in dominant fashion. Let’s jump right into their first matchup of the 2025/26 season.

Knicks vs. Bucks | Analysis

New York Knicks

New York State of Mind

The New York Knicks are coming off an Eastern Conference Finals appearance but enter this season with a new Head Coach on the bench. Mike Brown was tapped to be the next Head Coach of this franchise and so far through three games I’d say he’s doing okay. New York has wins over both the Cavaliers and Celtics this year, but did drop their game to Miami on Sunday. It was the team’s first road game of the year and we know road trips to Miami can always be just a little bit tougher because of the distractions.

The Knicks’ offense has a struggled a little bit to start the year. They currently rank 27th in points per game, averaging just 110.3 per game and shooting a league worst 40% from the field. New York’s got four players averaging 16 or more points per game, but only two of them are shooting better than 40%. The teams’ also shooting just 33% from beyond the arc and that’s something we’ll need to see improve if they hope to keep winning games.

Giannis & the Merry Band of Misfits

Giannis Antetokounmpo is playing in his 13th year and he’s once again looking like the only All-Star caliber player on this Bucks’ roster. Antetokounmpo is focused on winning and right now he’s focused on doing it with the Bucks, no matter who else is on the court. The team’s off to a 2-1 start, averaging the 8th most points per game (122.7) and recording the 5th best shooting percentage in the NBA so far (51.3%).

Now the Bucks list of opponents does include both the Wizards and the Raptors, but Giannis has been the engine behind the Bucks squad and as long as he’s playing at 100% they can win most games they’re in. Outside of Giannis, the team’s 2nd leading scorer is Cole Anthony and that’s because of a 23 point outburst against the Cavaliers a couple nights ago. Gary Trent Jr. sits second in usage on the Bucks and newly acquired Myles Turner has yet to have a real impact in any of these games.

Milwaukee’s roster is built like Giannis is going to average 35 points per game and tonight against the Knicks, I’m all the way in on Mr. Antetokounmpo.

Our Best Bet in the Knicks/Bucks Game, October 23rd

Giannis Antetokounmpo o30.5 Points (-115) | BetOnline

Giannis

Like I said above, this roster has been constructed for Giannis to average well over 30 points per game this year. Gary Trent Jr. is second on the team in usage and the Bucks have no ‘real’ second option. In three games so far this year, Giannis is seeing a usage rate just under 35%, he’s taking 20 shot attempts per game and getting to the line for nearly 12 free throw attempts.

So far this year, Giannis is averaging 36.0 points, 16.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game. He’s shooting 68% from the field and has just been unstoppable all around. Tonight the Bucks host the Knicks in just their second home game of the year. Last year Milwaukee lost all three matchups to the Knicks and Giannis was held below this line in every game. Two of the Bucks losses were blowout losses and Giannis failed to play a full compliment of minutes.

Now this year’s Bucks roster is not any better than last year, it’s probably worse. But this is Ginnis Antetokounmpo and this dude HATES losing. After getting swept last year by the Knicks, after losing in the first round to the Pacers; it looks like Giannis is angry and that’s something I want to tap in with.
