It’s time for a new era in Los Angeles, the Luka Dončić era is officially set to begin and the fans could not be more excited. Just over a week ago, in the dead of night, one of the biggest superstars in the NBA was traded; Luka Dončić is going to Hollywood.

The vibes could not be higher in Los Angeles and it’s shown in their play. The Lakers have won 5 games in a row, all 5 without Anthony Davis. The Lakers have gone 4-0, since trading for Dončić, even though he has yet to play a single minute in the purple and gold.

Los Angeles has averaged 125.5 PPG in these L5 games, including 124 against the Pacers while both Luka and Lebron sat on the bench.

Tonight, LeLuka makes their debut and I have to admit, even I’m a little excited.

The Utah Jazz are in the hunt, the hunt for Cooper Flagg. This year’s top prospect is turning heads in college and turning the heads of NBA General Managers everywhere. The Jazz have had their eyes on this kid since last season, deciding to buy in on this group of players and rolling the dice for one more season.

Last year, the Jazz ranked 12th in the Western Conference and won 31 of their 82 games. They showed glimpses of being good but injuries to both Lauri Markkanen and Jordan Clarkson really derailed their season. This year, it’s been bad. They’ve won just 12 of their 51 games, with just 2 teams sitting below them in the overall standings.

The Jazz aren’t winning a lot of games, nor are they looking to; the one thing they have done is score points and give up more points. Utah ranks 28th in points allowed and 26th in opponent field goal percentage. Like I said, they give up a lot of point.

The reality hasn’t fully set in yet, but I’m sure after tonight I’ll have no choice but to accept it; Luka Dončić is a Laker. The entire City of Los Angeles is on edge tonight as we await the debut of LeLuka.

Two of the best players of their respective generations, two of the best players in the NBA TODAY; and now both guys are on the same side. Both Lebron and Luka are two of the best passers in the league, consistently finishing in the top-10 for assists per game almost every year.

Dončić has had a little bit of a down year, but a lot of that has to do with the Mavericks offensive struggles as a team and injuries Luka’s been dealing with. The Lakers offense has been firing on all cylinders, they’ve won 5 in a row and now they’re adding one of the best play makers int he game to their line up.

The Jazz rank 27th in assists allowed this year, 29th to PGs and 27th to opposing SGs. Dončić is averaging 13 potential assists per game and 49.4 passes per contest. We’ve seen other big stars move to new markets this week and a common theme seems to be involving your new team mates.

Fox has recorded 9+ assists in 2 of the 3 games since joining the Spurs, averaging nearly 14 potential assists per game in the 3 games. Jimmy Butler had just 4 assists in his debut, but recorded 14 potential assists in just 28 minutes of game time.
