Clippers vs. Nuggets| Game 4 Recap

The Nuggets look to keep this from being a lost season.
Result: Nuggets (101) – Clippers (99)
The Clippers and Nuggets continue to exchange blows, now entering Game 5 with the series all tied up at 2-games a piece. After losing back to back games, the Nuggets came out fired up in Game 4. Nikola Jokic had his best game of the series, recoding 36 points, 21 rebounds and 8 assists.
Kawhi Leonard led the Clippers with 24 points and Powell was the team’s second leading scorer with 22 points. The Clippers were held to just 99 points in on their home floor, just the 2nd time all season they’ve been held under 100 points with Kawhi in the lineup.
The Nuggets defense was the biggest surprise of the night, holding the Clippers to just 44% shooting as a team and 33% from the perimeter.
Dog Fight
Over 10 technical fouls have been called in this series so far and it’s easy to see neither team likes the other. Both games have been defensive battles and we’ve already seen one overtime game and a buzzer-beater to win the game. Tonight the Nuggets may see Russell Westbrook back in the lineup, he sat Game 4 with a foot injury.
Both teams have now won a game on the road, while also having given up a game on their home floor. The Clippers and Nuggets both are chalked full of superstars with plenty of postseason experience. This series has gone from a best of 7 to a best of 3 and that’s when there’s no room left for error.
Our Best Bets in Game 5 between the Nuggets and Clippers
Ivica Zubac o29.5 P/R (-115 via BetOnline)

Zubac is averaging 18.8 PPG and 11.5 RPG through the first four games and he’s managed to play 39 just under 40 MPG.
Tonight the Clippers are back in Denver, having now given up home court advantage. In games with 2-days of rest, Zub’s averaged 19.2 PPG and 13.5 RPG and even adding 3.1 APG.
Zubac has looked like an All-NBA Center this year and it’s just another testament to how much fun playing with James Harden can be. Zubac is averaging 19.7 PPG in his L20 games, in addition to 13.0 RPG and 3.2 APG.
With Nikola Jokic on the court, the Clippers best matchup is Zubac and they’ll need him out there for as long as he can go. He’s put some added preassure on Jokic in this series, averaging 5.0 offensive rebounds per game.
Jamal Murray o5.5 Assists (-105 via BetOnline)

This one’s going to be a sweat. Kawhi and company have held the Nuggets to just 99.5 PPG in this series but it’s imperative that changes tonight. Murray’s hit this line in 3 of the 4 games of this series so far and he’s averaging over 8 potential assists per game in these 4 games.
Coming back home after a very tough fought win, this feels like a spot where the Nuggets offense will come out to play. The two man game of Jokic and Murray has shown flashes and has been tough for the Clippers to contend with. We saw it on display in Game 4 and it’s a big reason as to why Jokic finished with 36 points.
Jamal’s hit this line in 6 of 9 games against the Clippers going back to last season, averaging 9,3 potential assists per game. You can’t give up home court in a best-of-3 series because you might not get a chance to come back. Look for the Nuggets to lock in tonight in Denver.
