Thunder vs. Pacers | Game 3 Recap

Result: Pacers (116) – Thunder (107)
Somehow, someway; the Pacers up 2-1 in the NBA Finals. The Pacers are two wins away from an NBA Championship but two wins can still be a lot. The Thunder came out flat in Game 3, their struggles on the road continued with the team scoring just 107 points despite shooting 47% from the field and 46% from beyond the arc.
It was the Thunder’s 17 turnovers that proved key. Indiana was able to turn those 17 turnovers into 21 points the other way and add to that the 13 2nd chance points they scored; it was a recipe for disaster for Oklahoma City. Indiana got some huge performances from some unlikely characters in Game 3; Mathurin finished with 27 points in just 22 minutes and TJ McConnell had 10/5/5 and 5 steals.
Both Siakam and Haliburton finished with a combined 43 points, 15 rebounds and 15 assists; Haliburton finishing 1 rebound shy of a triple-double. For Oklahoma City it was their MVP that struggled. Shai finished with just 24 points on 9/20 from the field and after back to back 30-point games, this felt a bit lacklustre.
Spin the Block
Shai and the Thunder haven’t lost back to back games since April 6th of this season; they only lost back to back games TWICE, this season.
Oklahoma City won 68 games in the regular season, lost just 14. In the postseason they’ve won 13 games, lost just 6 times. Every single time they lose, they respond in a big way. The Thunder are 18-2 after a loss in the regular season, winning games by an average margin of 14.6 PPG.
So far in the postseason, the Thunder are 5-0 after a loss; winning those games by an average of 20.5 PPG. Head Coach Mark Daigneault has had Oklahoma City ready for every single game this year, making the necessary adjustments after both wins and losses. He’s got his team focused and ready on tonight’s game and I can’t wait to see how this plays out.

Our Best Bets in Game 4 of the NBA Finals
Aaron Nesmith o16.5 PR (-105 via BetOnline)

This Pacers team is very deep. It is not just Hali and Spicy P.
The Indiana Pacers are 2-games away from an NBA Championship and one of the biggest reasons why is this man right here, Aaron Nesmith. Nesmith missed a majority of the regular season due to injury but he’s come back for Indiana and become their best 1-on1 defender. Throughout the postseason, he’s guarded the opposing team’s best player and he’s hit big shots; simple.
Nesmith is coming off a game in which he played just 22-minutes and struggled to play through foul trouble for a majority of the game. He finished the game with 7-points and 2-rebounds; shooting 3/5 from the field and 1/2 from beyond the arc.
Tonight in the biggest game of their season, look for Nesmith to play smart and play hard. Indiana’s going to need it if they hope to go up 3-1.
