NASCAR Cup Series Go Bowling at the Glen Predictions & Picks: Will SVG Rule the Road Yet Again?

NASCAR driver Shane van Gisbergen - NASCAR Cup Series 2025 Go Bowling at the Glen Predictions & Picks

Entering this weekend’s NASCAR action at Watkins Glen, it looked like we could get two Shane van Gisbergen vs. Connor Zilisch battles. Yesterday’s Xfinity Series battle ended early, and after a post-race mishap for Zilisch, there won’t be one in today’s Go Bowling at the Glen (2:00 p.m. ET, USA Network).

After winning the Mission 200 at the Glen for the second straight year, Zilisch suffered a scary fall as he was climbing onto his car to celebrate his Xfinity Series-leading sixth win of the season. The end result was a broken collarbone, which will keep him out of today’s Cup Series race.

But even without one of the potential race favorites, an exciting afternoon should be ahead at Watkins Glen with only two more regular season races to come after today. Will SVG keep another drive from clinching a playoff spot? Read on for our Go Bowling at the Glen predictions and picks and see which NASCAR betting sites offer the best value for today’s Cup Series best bets.

Go Bowling at the Glen Predictions and Picks

NASCAR Cup Series driver William Byron celebrates his 2025 Iowa Corn 350 win by sinking his teeth into an ear of corn

William Byron to finish in the top three (+450 at Bovada) and win the Go Bowling at the Glen

The weekend at Watkins Glen kicked off Friday with Truck Series points leader Corey Heim winning the Mission 176 at the Glen. Yesterday, Xfinity Series points leader Zilisch won the Mission 200 at the Glen.

Can Byron get his second Go Bowling at the Glen win after retaking the Cup Series points lead with his thrilling Iowa Corn 350 win? This season, he finished second at Circuit of the Americas, ninth in Mexico City, and eighth at Sonoma.

Chase Elliott to finish in the top 10 (-105 at Bovada)

Elliott is now 18 points behind Byron after only finishing 14th at Iowa Speedway, but he did at least continue his streak of finishing in the top 20 in every race this season.

Look for a better result at Watkins Glen, where he won in 2018 and 2019. This season, Elliott finished third in both the Mexico City and Sonoma races and fourth at COTA. With those results in mind, sprinkle some extra on him to log another top five, which is +320 at Bovada.

Alex Bowman to finish in the top 10 (-105 at Bovada)

Like his Hendrick Motorsports teammates, Bowman has put together some solid results on road courses this season. He was ninth at COTA, fourth in the Viva Mexico 250, and eighth in the Grant Park 165.

Bowman is also on a nice run overall entering the Go Bowling at the Glen, with three top fives, six top 10s, and an average finish of 8.0 in his last eight races. He needs to keep it going too, as his place in the playoffs is still not yet secure. As with Elliott, consider an extra sprinkle on a top-five finish, which is also +320 at Bovada.

Chase Briscoe to finish in the top 10 (-154 at Bovada)

Briscoe came in second behind Byron at Iowa Speedway, his third runner-up finish in the last four races. After narrowly missing out on his seventh pole of the season (and third in a row), you should like his chances to get a good result in the race.

There’s a lot of juice here, but it is worth it given his current form, which includes a second in the Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma.
