Larson began his day at the 2025 Indianapolis 500, where he started 19th and finished 27th after spinning out on a restart on the 92nd lap of the 200-lap race.
So, for a second straight year, Larson’s attempt to run 1100 miles in one day is unsuccessful. But it also means that he will not face the time crunch that he could have for the Coca-Cola 600, especially after the start of the Indy 500 was delayed for more than half an hour due to weather.
While the odds were not high that Larson would have contended for the Indy 500 win had he not crashed out early, he heads into the Coca-Cola 600 as the favorite to win the race after qualifying second behind Chase Briscoe yesterday.

Kyle Larson to finish in the Coca-Cola 600 top three (+125 at Bovada)
The last time Larson started on the front row in this race, he won it as the polesitter in 2021. Look for him to put his Double Duty disappointment behind him and push for his series-leading fourth win of the season.
William Byron to finish in the top five (+135 at Bovada)
Byron has finished in the top five three times in the last four editions of the Coca-Cola 600, and a fourth in five years is a strong possibility.
If he does, it will be a nice bounce-back for Byron after he finished 24th at Kansas Speedway last time out. It is worth noting that each of the previous two times he finished outside the top 20 this season, he came in second in the next race. With that in mind, an additional sprinkle on a top-three finish (at +225 at Bovada) is also worth a look.
Alex Bowman to finish in the top ten (+125 at Bovada)
To get this play at these odds is a seriou steal for a couple of reasons. One, Bowman has five top-ten finishes and an average finish of 10.1 in seven Coca-Cola 600 starts with Hendrick Motorsports. Two, he is putting together a solid season to date, having logged seven top-ten finishes in 12 races.
