The Main Event Saturday night will feature the highly anticipated Welterweight debut of Islam Makhachev. The former lightweight champion, is vacating the title in order to move up and fight Jack Della Maddalena for the welterweight championship.
Islam Makhachev will be taking his impressive 15 fight winning streak into the bout. With another win at UFC 322, Makhachev will tie Anderson Silva’s 16 fight UFC win streak record & become a 2 division champion.
There will be a huge test in front of him as Jack Della Maddalena is coming off a career best performance to become the welterweight champion. Jack was able to show case his phenomenal take down defense and inflict brutal damage on Belal Muhammad with skilled boxing to secure the victory.
A big topic of conversation for the bout has been Islam’s size compared to Della – Maddalena considering he is moving up. It will be interesting to see if the size will matter in the grappling exchanges and if Islam will be as dominant at Welterweight.

Co – Main Event: Valentina Schevchenko (C) vs Zhang Weili Preview – Flyweight Championship

Shevchenko Will Put Her Belt & Goat Title On The Line Against Zhang
The Co – Main Event of the card is another highly anticipated super fight. The bout will feature 2 respected “Goats” of their divisions in Zhang Weili and current Flyweight Champion Valentina Schevchenko.
Zhang Weili has been the long reigning Strawweight champion, winning the belt twice in her run. She only accounted 1 title defense in her first stint as champion before collecting her only 2 losses in the UFC and losing the belt to thug Rose.
Since she has regained her title, Zhang has ripped off 4 consecutive title defenses in impressive fashion. Now she will relinquish the strawweight title and try to become a 2 division champion Saturday night.
Valentina Schevchenko is a very tall task for any mma fighter despite resume & skillset. A long reigning champion herself, Valentina has over 10 title defenses in her 2 stints as flyweight champion.
With a legendary resume, Valentina has failed in her attempts at 2 division gold in the past. It will be interesting to see her now give that same opportunity to Zhang, a very dangerous opponent.

Top Contenders Will Face Off For A Title Shot At UFC 322
A very interesting bout scheduled for the Main Card will be Sean Brady taking on Michael Morales. The match up will feature 2 of the top contenders of the welterweight division and likely has big title implications for the winner.
Morales has been very impressive since joining the UFC, ripping off 6 straight wins in his tenure. On that run he has finished 4 of those bouts by KO, and improved his unbeaten record to 18-0.
Morales is coming in with the momentum of a brutal KO of a highly regarded veteran in Gilbert Burns. Sean Brady just might have what it takes to stop the hype train that is Michael Morales.
The contender is coming into this fight off a big finish of his own, submitting former champion Leon Edwards in a main event. Brady is now the winner of 3 in a row, finishing 2 of those fights in impressive fashion.

Leon Edwards vs Carlos Prates Preview – Welterweight

Carlos Prates Welcomes Edwards Back To Action
Leon Edwards will make his return to the octagon after a long year lay off. The time off could have been much needed as he is the loser of 2 straight for the first time in his career.
The last time fans saw Edwards in action the former champion struggled to show any heart and desire to win. In both losses Edwards has been dominated on the ground and even losing some striking exchanges to Belal Muhammed in route to losing his belt.
It is hard to tell if Edwards still has it at this point in his career, and he has drawn another tough match up with knockout artist Carlos Prates. Not only is he a knock out artist, the prospect has all the momentum on his side bouncing back with a huge KO win in his last outing.
The match up will feature high level striking on both sides, yet the wrestling advantage lies with Edwards. It will be interesting to see if Edwards takes the path of least resistance or tests his striking skills with Prates.

- Total Rounds: 2.5 Total Rounds – Over (-130) / Under (+110)

Saint – Denis will be looking to carry the momentum of his last few bouts into this match up. The French prospect’s last outing fans saw him pick up a huge upset victory over a top prospect, where he dominated from bell to bell.
A good sign for MMA fans, as the win marked 2 in a row and proved The self proclaimed “God Of War” has not fallen off. He will have a very tough veteran test in front of him with Beneil Dariush.
Dariush is coming off of a bounce back victory over Renato Moicano, where he outlasted the veteran in a close split decision. The match making here is entirely interesting as Dariush just beat Moicano, Saint – Denis last loss came at the hands of Moicano.
