White Sox vs. Dodgers: Shohei Ohtani is the kind of hitter you do not fade when the numbers line up. He is coming off two straight hitless games, but the matchup could not be more ideal. Everything points to a breakout tonight in Los Angeles.

The baddest man in baseball when it comes to backing trends? Shohei Ohtani. After going 0-for-8 in his last two games, it is safe to say he is the most due hitter in baseball tonight. With 81 elite ratings at home over the past three seasons, his trends are worth putting your trust into.
According to Batters-Box, Ohtani records a hit 74% of the time he receives an elite rating, two hits nearly 40%, and a home run 32% of the time. In 199 total elite ratings, he has gone over this prop 36% of the time.
He faces White Sox starter Shane Smith, who owns the third-worst pitcher rating on the day and allows 41% hard contact—second worst among today’s starters. Smith leans on his fastball and changeup, using them 61% of the time.
Ohtani is batting .326 with a 1.084 OPS and 204 wRC+ against fastballs. He has struggled a bit against changeups (.616 OPS, 80 wRC+), but Smith throws it only 21% of the time. The rest of his pitch mix is below league average, and Ohtani crushes those offerings.
After two straight games without a hit, this feels like a perfect spot to back one of the best hitters in the sport to break out. If you prefer to lay the -135 juice on over 1.5 bases, go for it. I went with the value—better bang for the buck.
Best Bet: Shohei Ohtani Over 1.5 Hits (+185) odds via BetOnline
