Yak City – Best MLB Pitchers to Target Tonight

When teams are getting active at Coors Field, so are we. Carson Palmquist takes the mound for the Rockies today and he’s having a tough rookie campaign, to say the least. Palmquist’s 8.50 ERA looks bad, but it gets worse when you see he’s allowing opposing batters to hit .319 on the year and giving up 2 HR/9. It gets even worst at Coors, Palmquist went 4.1 innings in his only start at home this year; allowing 10 hits, giving up two HR and seven total runs. Tonight with the Giants in town, look for that ball to fly.

Next, let’s talk about Cade Povich. The second-year pitcher has struggled this year, especially at home. Povich is allowing opposing hitters to hit .291 at Camden Yards this year, giving up 2.7 HR/9 in his six home starts. He’s struggled against right-handed bats this year, allowing them to hit .297 with seven of the nine HR he’s allowed being to righties.

Lastly, Brandon Pfaadt. Pfaadt’s given up five or more hits in four of his last five games, allowed five HR in those starts and today he makes his first home start since giving up six hits and eight earned runs in the first inning to the Nationals. Tonight he’ll face off with a Mariners team that ranks 4th in hits over the last 15 days and top-10 in batting average. Pfaadt’s struggled against lefties this year, allowing seven HR to left-handed bats this year.

Weather Man, Weather Man – MLB Ballparks to Target Tonight

Summertime at Coors Field, need I say more. Conditions in the Mile High City are immaculate with strong winds blowing out toward center field, low air pressure, and Carson Palmquist on the mound. Both the conditions and the altitude should make for some fun in this Rockies-Giants game, so don’t be afraid to dig a little deeper.

Elsewhere in the big leagues, the Phillies are hosting the Cubs and winds are blowing at Citizens Bank Park. Another park with low air pressure today and strong winds; Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California. The Angels will take on the Athletics and both Soriano and Spence have struggled to keep a lid on opposing lineups this year.

Camden Yards is one of the most hitter-friendly parks in the league and Cade Povich has been one of the most hitter-friendly pitchers we’ve seen take the mound this year. He’s allowing the opposition to hit .279 on the year and it’s been even worse at home. With conditions looking amazing in Baltimore, look for Cade’s struggles to continue tonight against the Tigers.

Our Best MLB Bets on the Diamond for Tuesday, June 10

Freddie Freeman o1.5 Total Bases (+120 via BetOnline)

Freddie Freeman

If you’re going to give me Freddie Freeman at plus money, chances are I’m going to take it. Freeman’s been great against righties this year, hitting .377 with seven of his nine HR coming against right-handed pitchers.

Freddie’s had 11 at-bats against Cease in his career, he’s recorded a .455 batting averaging and has yet to hit a home run. He’s hitting .309 on the road this year with a .315 batting average against the Padres since coming to Los Angeles. Last night, Freeman finished with three hits and is now batting .333 in his career at Petco Park.

After going 0/9 in the Dodgers last two games against the Cardinals, Freeman busted out of the slump with a three-hit night. Look for this Dodgers lineup to once again light it up at Petco Park.

Bonus: Freddie Freeman Home Run (+540)

Jacob Wilson o1.5 Total Bases (+100 via BetOnline)

Jacob Wilson

Jacob Wilson has cleared this line in eight of of his last nine games, coming off an 0/4 night against the Angels in Game 1 of this series. Wilson has been so good for the Athletics this year, he leads the team in hits, sits top-4 in runs scored and RBI. He’s hit eight HR this year and he’s been just as good on the road.

Wilson’s hitting .331 on the road this year, with four of his eight HR coming away from Sutter Health Park. He’s hitting .359 against right-handed pitchers this year with seven of his eight HR coming against righties.

Soriano’s struggled against right-handed bats this year, allowing the opposition to hit .292 and .397 when at Angel Stadium.

Bonus: Jacob Wilson Home Run (+1400)
