MLB Pitcher Report | July 5

The Day After Yesterday
Day two of the three-day weekend is here. It’s time to rally the troops, cook up some breakfast and bet on some baseball. Today’s slate of pitchers couldn’t be better for the day after Independence Day so let’s kick it off at everyone’s favorite ballpark, Coors Field.
We’ve got Germán Márquez on the mound for the Rockies today, he’s got a 5.62 ERA and he’s allowing opposing teams to hit .305 on the year. He’s done a good job of preventing the long ball, giving up just 10 total home runs this year.
Next, we’ve got to talk about Walker Buehler. The 30-year old righty has 6.45 ERA this year, allowing the opposition to hit .280 and giving up two home runs per nine innings pitched. It gets even worse away from Fenway, his ERA balloons to 9.49, allowing hitters to hit .341 and allowing 2.7 HR/9.
Let’s finish it off with Stephen Kolek of the Padres. His 91.6 mph average exit velocity is third highest among today’s starters and he’s had his share of struggles at Petco Park. Kolek’s ERA jumps to 9.20 at home this year, where he’s also allowing batters to hit .311 and giving up just under two home runs per nine innings.
Top Gun – MLB Flight Report
Hopefully yesterday was a taste of what’s to come this entire long weekend. The ball was absolutely flying and today’s conditions look even better. Let’s kick it off in Philly, 8.3 mph winds blowing directly to the outfield with temperatures in the high 80s.
Next let’s move to the nation’s capital, Washington D.C. Temperatures in the high 80s, 6.7 mph winds blowing out of the stadium and Walker Buehler on the mound. Feels like the Nationals might have some fun today.
In New York we’ve got Game Two of the Subway Series between the Yankees and the Mets. Temperatures in the mid 80s, low humidity and 10.3 mph winds blowing directly out and slightly toward left field. It’s hot down in Atlanta, temperature in the mid 90s and 7.8 mph winds blowing out toward right field.
In Cleveland we’ve got similar conditions, winds blowing out and warm temperatures. Let’s cap it off in California. Winds blowing out at Dodger Stadium and Sutter Health Park. The Dodgers got absolutely beat down yesterday, you’d think maybe they’re a little mad. In Oakland we’ve got Severino on the mound and a Giants lineup hungry for offense.
Our Best MLB Pitcher vs. Batter Bets on the Diamond for Saturday, July 5
Rafael Devers o1.5 Total Bases (-109 via BetOnline)

Raffy finally came through for the gang. He didn’t quite get the home run, but he cashed us out with a double and his first extra base hit this month. Tonight we’re going right back, Luis Severino on the mound and directly after the Giants got beat down.
San Francisco lost yesterday’s game 11-2, Justin Verlander went just three innings, giving up seven hits, and six earned runs. His replacement didn’t fare much better, giving up five hits and two home runs in just four innings of work.
The Giants have gone 6-11 since adding Devers to the team and last night had to be their ugliest loss of the bunch. Devers simply needs to be better in this lineup and while he can’t shoulder all the blame, he’s definitely someone that needs to play better.
Severino is allowing lefties to hit .286 this year and his ERA jumps to 6.79 at Sutter Health Park. With strong winds blowing out, look for Devers to finally make an impact in tonight’s game.
Bonus: Rafael Devers Home Run (+250)
Brent Rooker o1.5 Total Bases (+112 via BetOnline)

We’re going to keep it in the Bay today, the weather’s just too good to pass on. Brent Rooker’s been having a year, batting .270 with 18 home runs, 46 RBI and 55 runs scored. At home, he’s been even better.
Rooker’s batting average jumps to .283 at Sutter Health Park but just six of his 18 home runs have come here at home. Today he’s got a tough matchup in Logan Webb, but it’s also why we’re getting the plus money price tag.
Webb’s 2.61 ERA jumps to 3.81 on the road this year and five of the seven home runs he’s given up have been on the road. He’s a spent his entire career with the Giants and benefited greatly from the pitcher friendly park. This ballpark’s the exact opposite, it’s small outfield and windy conditions make it great for any hitter.
Bonus: Brent Rooker Home Run (+400)
