MLB Pitcher Report | June 30

Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs
With a smaller slate than usual, we’ve got some time to talk about these pitchers. Let’s kick it off with Max Scherzer. The 40-year old’s been having a tough go so far this year, starting just two games for the Blue Jays and recording a 5.63 ERA in just eight innings of work.
The former ace hasn’t had the easiest start to his time in Toronto, allowing the opposition to hit .3000 and giving up 2.3 HR/9. He’s also really struggled against this Yankees lineup. Max has given up home runs to Judge, Grisham and two to Stanton.
Next let’s talk about the young Chase Burns. In his first career start, the young righty went five innings, gave up six hits, three earned runs and a home run.
Lastly, Andrew Heaney for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He’s done a good job of holding batters to just .240 on the season, but he’s also given up 14 home runs. Heaney’s struggled against lefties this year, allowing them to hit .287 with five of the 14 home runs to left handed bats.

Summer’s Here – MLB Stadium Report
Summer time’s here and the weather’s been fantastic, now let’s just hope we get the good balls. Over the weekend it felt like the balls weren’t flying, despite the great weather conditions; feels like a great day for that to change.
Let’s start at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. The winds are blowing directly toward the outfield with temperatures in the high 80s. Similar conditions in Pittsburgh, with slower winds and temperatures in the high 70s. The high humidity in Pittsburgh should help carry the ball just a little farther today.
We’ve got 8.1 mph winds blowing toward the Green Monster at Fenway, temperature in the low 80s. The Athletics will take the field at Steinbrenner Field today, facing the Tampa Bay Rays in some great conditions. The winds blowing toward the outfield at this Triple-A park and we’ve got some pretty big bats in this lineup.
Lastly, the four indoor games. Out of the four, the Blue Jays with Scherzer on the mound look to be one of the best. The Rogers Center’s always capable of producing home runs and with big bats in both lineups, this one’s worth a second look.
Our Best MLB Pitcher vs. Batter Bets on the Diamond for Monday, June 30
Cal Raleigh o1.5 Total Bases (+100 via BetOnline)

Big Dumper, best nickname in all of sports right now. Cal Raleigh has been on an absolute tear, he’s hitting .273 on the year with 32 home runs and he’s showing now signs of slowing down. Just this month, Raleigh’s hitting .299 with 10 home runs and 25 RBI.
Despite T-Mobile Park being one of the most pitcher friendly parks in the league, Cal’s hit 14 home runs here with a .614 SLG. Cal’s hitting .255 against righties this year and 21 of his 32 home runs have come against right handed pitching.
Raleigh’s 92.8 mph exit velocity ranks among the best in MLB and it’s the reason why he’s consistently a problem; regardless of the ballpark.
Bonus: Cal Raleigh Home Run (+240)
Radael Devers o1.5 Total Bases (-110 via BetOnline)

I just can’t quit Devers. He went 1/11 in their three game series with the White Sox and now they head to the desert. Devers has a .217 batting average with the Giants, he’s recorded just four total extra base hits and it just hasn’t looked great for the lefty.
Today he face Ryne Nelson, one of the most hittable fast balls in the MLB. He’s allowing an average exite velocity of 90 mph and 61.3% of his pitches are four-seam fastballs. He ranks near the bottom in exit velocity, hard hit rate and barrel percentage.
Devers raw power should allow him to get to Nelson today, maybe even send one over the fence. .
Bonus: Rafael Devers Home Run (+330)
