MLB Pitcher Report | June 23

Bailey Ober-ated
It’s a beautiful day today and Bailey Ober takes the mound against the red hot Seattle Mariners. Ober’s recorded a 4.68 ERA this year, allowing opposing hitters to hit .280 and giving up almost 1.9 HR/9 at home. He’s allowed 14 home runs this year and he’s struggled against right-handed bats.
Ober’s allowing righties to hit .292 this year with seven home runs allowed. Cal Raleigh’s struggled against Ober in his career, with a singular hit in eight at bats, but that hit did happen to go over the fence. JP Crawford’s another guy that’s had his share of success against Ober, recording a .364 batting average on 11 hits.

Buehler, Walker
It’s unfortunate that Walker Buehler’s become someone we like to target, but his numbers just jump off the page. He’s allowing opposing hitters to average .286 this year with that average jumping up to .359 when he’s on the road. Buehler’s 2.8 HR/9 on the road are hard to ignore as well as the fact he’s allowing lefties to hit .338 this year.
It’s been a tough year for the former Dodger, his 5.95 ERA is the worst of his career and he’s on track to give up the most home runs of his career. In his last start, he went 3.1 innings against the Mariners, allowed eight hits, eight earned runs, and even gave up a home run. He’s still on the west coast, close to a city he spent his entire career.
This will be Buehler’s third career start at Angel Stadium, never having pitched more than five innings. He’s got a 5.59 ERA in those two starts, giving up 11 hits, six runs, and three total home runs. Mr. Buehler might be in for a tough day of work.
Summer’s Here – MLB Stadium Report
This weekend we saw the ball fly. With 128 total home runs over the weekend, that marked the highest total of any weekend this season. Summer has officially begun.
Today with just nine games on the slate, we’ve got fewer stadiums to choose from but some great conditions nonetheless. Starting in Cincinnati, the temperatures are in the low 90s, with winds blowing toward left field.
Next on the list, Rate Field in Chicago. With 15 mph winds blowing toward left field, weather in the high 80s and the smallest outfield in the MLB, look for the Diamondbacks to let loose. In Minnesota we’ve got 10 mph winds blowing out towards right field with Bailey Ober on the mound.
Let’s round it out with Anaheim, Baltimore, and New York. In Anaheim, winds are blowing directly towards the outfield and we’ve got two pitchers that love giving up home runs. In New York, the Braves and Mets will see light winds blowing out towards the outfield with weather in the low 90s. Lastly, we’ve got near 100-degree weather in Baltimore. The Rangers will start Patrick Corbin, while Trevor Rodgers gets his second start of the year. Both lineups are full of big hitters.
Our Best MLB Pitcher vs. Batter Bets on the Diamond for Monday, June 23
Cal Raleigh o1.5 Total Bases (+100 via BetOnline)

Despite Cal’s struggles against Bailey Ober, I love this spot for Raleigh. Raleigh’s having a career year, hitting .276 with 31 home runs through just 75 games. He just became the first catcher ever to hit 30 home runs this quickly into the season and all signs point to him continuing this heater.
At the same time, Ober’s on track to have his worst season yet. He’s got a 4.68 ERA this year and he’s given up 14 home runs in just 15 starts so far this year. He’s struggled against right-handed bats, allowing righties to hit .292 with a .528 SLG. Seven of the 14 home runs he’s allowed this year have come to righties and he’s given up almost double the extra-base hits.
Raleigh’s been great on the road this year, hitting .295 with 17 of his 31 home runs coming away from T-Mobile Park in Seattle. He’s also been great against right-handed pitching this year, with 21 of his 31 home runs coming against righties.
Bonus: Cal Raleigh Home Run (+200)
Roman Anthony o1.5 Total Bases (+145 via BetOnline)

The Red Sox newest big hitter is Roman Anthony. He’s got just four hits in his short 12-game career, but tonight at Angel Stadium, it feels like the perfect spot for him to get his fifth. Kochaniwicz is letting lefties hit over .300 this year and he’s allowed 13 of his 15 home runs to left-handed hitters.
Bonus: Roman Anthony Home Run (+520)
