Happy Tuesday. After a little bit of a hiatus, I’m back in the MLB lab and ready to attack this huge slate of games. Let’s jump right into it.

MLB Pitcher Report | July 29

Give Me Juiced Balls, or Give Me Death
Is it just me, or have the balls seemed a little flat recently. Maybe it’s the fact I haven’t hit a home run bet in forever, but it feels despite great conditions, the ball just isn’t flying. Regardless, we’ve got some great pitching matchups to talk about today, let’s get into it.
Starting off with a couple of guys who have really struggled recently. Colin Rea and Erick Fedde have given up 14 combined home runs over their last five games. Rea will face off with his former team today, taking on the Brewers in Milwaukee.
Rea played just two seasons for Milwaukee, starting 49 games for the Brewers and recording an 18-12 record during that time. Fedde’s given up eight home runs in his last five starts but now he’s getting a fresh start in Atlanta.
After being acquired by the Braves just yesterday, the 32 year old righty will make his debut in Kansas City against the red hot Royals. Speaking of struggling pitchers, Lucas Giolito might be back. After giving up just three home runs in June, Giolito’s given up five in just four starts this month.
Suns Out, Guns Out – July 29 Weather Conditions
Let’s kick it off in the Windy City. The White Sox have the smallest outfield in the MLB, winds blowing directly out toward centre field and the Phillies are in town. With a roster full of big bats, I love multiple hitters in this Phillies’ lineup today.
In New York we’ve got a divisional battle in the AL East. Four of the five teams in the AL East have winnings records and today it’s the Tampa Bay Rays taking on the Bronx Bombers. With 8.3 mph winds blowing directly out and towards the short porch in right field, this game can’t be ignored.
With the roof open in Milwaukee today, we’ve got to take a trip to American Family Field for this Brewers/Cubs matchup. Winds blowing at 7.2 mph out and towards left field and just one game separating the two teams for top spot in the NL Central; look for this one turn into a dog fight.
Lastly, we can’t forget about Sutter Health Park. Winds blowing at just over 13 mph toward the outfield, temperatures in the low 90s and two pitchers that give up plenty of hard contact. With so much good weather today, we’ve got to see the ball fly a little bit.
Our Best MLB Pitcher vs. Batter Bets on the Diamond for Tuesday, July 29
Kyle Schwarber o1.5 Total Bases (-110 via BetOnline)

Kyle Schwarber has become an obsession of mine. I bet him last night and he went 0/1 with THREE walks; how’s that even possible? With tonight’s weather conditions in Chicago, it’s hard to ignore the hard hitting lefty.
At 32 year’s old, Schwarber’s on pace to have one of his best seasons yet. He’s played in all 106 games so far this year, he’s got 36 home runs and he’s hitting .253 on the year. His .253 batting average is on pace to be the 2nd best of his career and the highest it’s been since coming to Philly.
Schwarber’s 36 home runs so far this year have him on pace to set a career high in home runs, possibly leaving the door open for 50 home runs this year. He would become just the 33rd different player to reach this mark and just the 2nd Phillies’ player, shout out Ryan Howard.
Now all of that is projection, but the argument remains; Schwarber has been elite this year. Look for that same level of play to continue tonight in Chicago.
Bonus: Kyle Schwarber Home Run (+200)
Cody Bellinger o1.5 Total Bases (+120 via BetOnline)

Short porch in right field, winds blowing at just over eight miles per hour in that same direction and a young pitcher pitcher on the mound for Tampa Bay. Bellinger is batting .308 at home this year with 13 of his 19 home runs coming at Yankee Stadium.
He’s loved that short porch this year and it’s why he’s already recorded 19 home runs through just 97 games. Last year in Chicago, Belli finished with 18 home runs in 130 games for the Cubs and finished the year with a .266 batting average.
This season he’s hitting .281, he’s on pace to finish with the third most home runs of his career and he should be back in the pennant race this year with New York.
Bonus: Cody Bellinger Home Run (+390)
