Red Sox vs. Yankees Game 3: Player Props & More | October 2, 2025

Red Sox vs. Yankees: Game Three in the Bronx is where it all comes down in one of baseball’s most iconic rivalries. With the series tied, the winner advances and the loser goes home. Two rookies take the mound tonight, both carrying the weight of their teams’ postseason hopes. Yankees starter Cam Schlittler has shown flashes this season, but he faces the Red Sox, a lineup full of proven talent and postseason experience. The stakes could not be higher, and every pitch will be magnified under the bright lights of Yankee Stadium.

For bettors, tonight presents a compelling angle. Schlitter’s limited innings and recent struggles against right-handed power hitters create opportunities for sharp plays. Meanwhile, the Red Sox offense is poised to attack early and often. This matchup is not just a test of talent but of poise and pressure, and it will likely set the tone for the rest of this pivotal postseason clash.

It all comes down to Game Three in the Bronx, the stage for baseball’s most iconic rivalry. Who will advance and who will be sent packing? Two rookies take the mound tonight for their respective clubs. Together, they own just 92.1 innings pitched this season, and Yankees starter Cam Schlitter is responsible for 73 of them.

Unfortunately for Yankees fans, Schlitter is the pitcher I am fading this evening. I am doing so with two correlated plays. First, I am taking Schlittler’s outs prop under 11.5 at +125. Second, I am backing the Red Sox first five team total over 1.5 at -110. Two strong prices, two angles that both hinge on the rookie struggling under postseason pressure.

Red Sox vs. Schlittler

Boston will be the toughest offense the 24-year-old has faced all season. If you want to argue otherwise, feel free-but the data only strengthens the case. Every team that has scored at least two runs against Schlittler this year includes Seattle, Toronto twice, Tampa Bay, Miami, Houston, and Minnesota. That track record suggests tonight’s Red Sox lineup is more than capable of continuing that trend.

Most of Boston’s top bats tonight will be right-handed, which is bad news for Schlitter. He has been struggling against righties as of late. The last 60 he has faced have posted a .321 xBA, .496 xSLG, and a 36% line drive rate. That stretch also includes a 12% barrel rate. Over his last three outings, the advanced metrics show regression coming. He owns a 5.08 xERA, a 40% hard-hit rate, and an 11% barrel rate. Opposing hitters are producing a .325 xBA, .484 xSLG, and .363 xwOBA against him.

The outs prop is the sharper edge because Aaron Boone will likely have a short leash in an elimination game. The Yankees skipper should turn to his bullpen at the first sign of trouble. If Schlittler does not survive past the fourth inning, it will most likely be because the Red Sox lineup has already done its damage.

When it comes down to it, this matchup is less about trusting Boston and more about fading a young arm in a spot that feels too big, too soon. The Red Sox have the bats, the experience, and the momentum to put pressure on Schlittler early. If they do, both of these props cash, and New York’s season could end right there under the lights in the Bronx.
