Game 1: The stage shifts to the Bronx for game one of this AL Wild Card clash between the Red Sox and Yankees. All eyes are on Boston ace Garret Crochet, who has carved up lineups down the stretch and looks like the kind of arm who can flip a series on his own.
The betting markets expect him to dominate again, especially against a Yankee team he has handled recently. But postseason baseball has a way of turning stars into legends, and New York’s power bats are built for moments like this. Tonight, I see real value leaning on the Yankees.

We head to the Bronx for the third game of the day as the Red Sox and Yankees square off in game one of this AL Wild Card Series. Boston ace Garret Crochet gets the ball, and many will write off New York based on his recent dominance against them.
That is exactly why I see value. With the books pricing this as another shove spot for the left-hander, there is opportunity to back two of the hottest bats in the game, both sitting right in the Yankees lineup.
Back the Big Bats
Aaron Judge over 1.5 bases at plus money is an auto-play, while Giancarlo Stanton simply to record a hit at $1.35 is too good to ignore. Judge is on a generational heater, batting well above .300 the past month with absurd power numbers. Stanton, while quieter, has put together a steady September, hitting .224 with a .641 SLG and 1.011 OPS. I only need the floor from him here, just one knock.
Both mash against lefties and their Batters-Box elite ratings back it up. Judge, across 316 elite-rated spots, records a hit 69% of the time, goes for 2+ hits 32%, homers 30%, and clears 1.5 bases 50%. At home, that last number jumps to 53%. Stanton, in 112 elite ratings, records a hit 63% overall and 71% at home.
Yes, Crochet has looked dominant, but the deeper numbers tell another story. Against his last 60 right-handed hitters, opponents own a .339 xBA and .675 xSLG. On the season, he is allowing 41% hard contact. Judge and Stanton specialize in hard contact, and tonight sets up perfectly for both to cash.
At the end of the day, the books are banking on Crochet to keep rolling, but the matchup numbers tell a different story. Judge and Stanton are not only in rhythm, they are positioned perfectly to take advantage of Crochet’s recent struggles against right-handed hitters. With Judge in the middle of a historic run and Stanton delivering consistent power all September, I see both as strong value plays tonight. Sometimes you bet against the trends, and sometimes you lean into them. Tonight, I am leaning heavily on the Yankees’ two biggest bats to deliver in the Bronx.
Best Bet: Aaron Judge Over 1.5 Bases (+110) & Giancarlo Stanton 1+ Hit (-135) BetOnline
