Boston’s currently sitting in the third and final Wild Card spot.
The Red Sox have now lost 3 straight games, all coming at the hands of the Dodgers. They’re looking to get back in the win column tonight with a win over the Rockies at Coors Field.
With almost two and half months still left in the season, Boston’s currently sitting in the third and final Wild Card spot, and just six games back of the division lead. The Yankees saw their early season lead disappear and the Orioles went into the All-Star Break on a bit of a cold spell.
Losing 3 straight in Los Angeles was not in the Red Sox itinerary so look for them to bounce back tonight in Colorado.
The home team’s going with veteran, Austin Gomber. He’s been bad this year despite his ERA still remaining below 5. He’s given up 18 home runs this year, tied for 4th most, despite being just one of two guys in the top 20 of home runs allowed with fewer than 100 innings pitched.

Jarren Duran has set the league on fire this year.
The Red Sox resurgence over the last few weeks has been the doing of so many of their players, it’s really been a team effort. It’s why Boston had 3 players playing in MLB’s Mid-Summer Classic. Vets like Tanner Houck and Rafael Devers were obvious choices but so was 27 year old Jarren Duran.

He finished last year hitting 0.295 with 8 home runs and 40 RBI. He’s already smashed those numbers this year and he’s done it in fewer games and his batting average has barely dropped despite far more at bats.
Duran’s played the Rockies just 3 times in his career, all 3 were last year and all 3 were at Fenway. He’s never played an MLB game at Coors so we know he’s going yard at some point during this series.
