Rangers vs. Royals: The Rangers and Royals meet in Kansas City tonight, and I am diving into a spicy prop that is too good to ignore. Walk props are often overlooked, but they can be some of the most profitable and sweat-inducing bets on the board. Mike Yastrzemski has been seeing the ball better than ever, and Jack Leiter has been handing out free passes like candy.
Tonight, the matchup lines up perfectly for a walk-laden showdown. Buckle in, because this one is going to be a rollercoaster.

Ah… starting the week off with a spicy, sweaty, delectable prop from the Rangers vs Royals game down in Kansas City. I have been experimenting with this market for quite some time, and with today’s slate looking like a boring snoozer, I figured, why not fire off some walk props? Who would not want to sweat out players seeing four balls miss the zone and casually stroll to first base? I know I would. Hopefully, the sickos and filth animals reading this feel the same way. First play, will be the newest Royal, Mike Yastrzemski, to record a walk at +115. The outfielder has been drawing free passes at a high rate recently, which is wild considering the Royals are one of the least-walked teams in baseball.
Yaz vs Leiter
In 14 games this month, Yastrzemski has walked eight times. All eight have come in his last eight games. Over his last five games, he carries a 25% walk rate. At home, he has been even more disciplined, owning a 14.4% walk rate compared to his 13% overall mark this season.
On the mound for the Texas Rangers is Jack Leiter, who has been handing out free passes at one of the highest clips in baseball over the last few weeks. Excluding Angels Victor Mederos, who has only thrown eight innings, Leiter owns the highest walk rate over his last seven starts, sitting at 14.7%.
On the road, it is even worse. In his last five away starts, Leiter has a 15.2% walk rate, second highest among starters (again excluding Mederos).
Leiter Ladder
For the season, Leiter has a 4.63 BB/9, and on the road he is averaging 2.9 walks per game. His prop today is set at 1.5, but it is heavily juiced. If you are feeling bold, the alternate line of 3+ walks is available at +170. That is not too crazy considering Leiter has walked 3+ batters in five of his last six starts, and 4+ in three of those six.
Normally, I would not advise going past 3+ due to the Royals ranking dead last in walk percentage at home this season (7%). However, over the last four weeks at home, they are suddenly third in walk percentage. That shift opens the door for Leiter walk ladder.
Especially when six Royals hitters have a walk rate of 7.8% or better in their last 90 plate appearances at home. Four of those six are above 11.1%. In their last 60 at-bats against right-handed pitching, five Royals sit above 8.3%.
With Yastrzemski and John Rave leading the way with the highest walk rates on the team, it would not shock me if they carried this ladder to the promised land.
