Rangers @ Angels Analysis & Breakdown

The Angels are turning to their bullpen for tonight’s contest, with reliever Roansy Contreras getting the start. Contreras has started two games for the Angels this year, and he’s given up 3 or more hits in both; despite never pitching more than 3 innings.

The Angels bullpen isn’t much better, they rank bottom 3 in ERA (4.88) and have given up 41 home runs.

On the flip side, we’ve got Max Scherzer making just his fourth start of the season. In his last start, he went 6.1 innings allowing 3 earned runs and recording just 3 strikeouts.

Scherzer has yet to crack 5 strikeouts in a single game this season but he’s also coming off a game in which he pitched the most innings he’s pitched all year.
