It is Kyle Schwarber Day!
Yes, my muse is back on the card tonight against the Miami Marlins, entering with the highest rating in his matchup, per Batters-Box.
Playing on the road is where the Phillies slugger has thrived—batting .252 with a .534 slugging percentage and .914 OPS. His elite road trends back it up. In 58 elite-rated road games, Schwarber records a hit 63% of the time, clears this prop 36% of the time, and goes over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI in 55% of games. The value tonight lies in the total bases prop, especially with his HRR prop juiced to -140.
One of my favorite trends is in play here—Schwarber has not gone back-to-back elite-rated games without a hit all season. He was rated elite last night and went 0-3. That trend points directly to a bounce-back performance.
He faces Marlins starter Cal Quantrill, who has been better at home, but still carries a poor rating. Quantrill owns a poorly rated matchup wOBA, ISO, hard contact, and strikeout percentage. He is allowing 38% hard contact to opposing hitters, and most of his pitch mix grades below league average. His best pitch is the cutter, which he throws 20% of the time.
Against cutters this season, Schwarber owns a +3 run value, batting .500 with a .722 slugging and .545 wOBA across 106 pitches.
After going hitless last night, this sets up as a prime bounce-back spot for Schwarber to make some noise.
