Orioles @ Rockies Analysis & Breakdown

The Orioles and the Rockies are two teams on complete different sides of the spectrum right now. The Orioles lead the Wild Card Race and sit just 1 game back of the Yankees for the lead in the AL East.
The Rockies, on the flip side, are a team struggling to string two wins together. They’re 50-86 currently, last in their division and sit just 1 game ahead of last place in the National League. Colorado’s scoring 5 runs per game at home this season, but have still gone just 31-36 at home this year.
Baltimore needs every win they can get, not only can they secure top spot in the AL East, but they’re competing with the Yankees for top spot in the American League. They’re averaging 4.95 runs per game (4th) and have won more games on the road this year than at Camden Yard.
With the Yankees winning 6 of their L9 games, the Orioles will need to keep winning games, especially games like these ones against the lowly Rockies.

Henderson’s hitting 0.286 against righties this year with 25 of his 33 home runs coming against right handed pitchers. Both Henderson and Santander have never faced off with Feltner, but Feltner does struggle against big left handed bats.
The Orioles had the pleasure of having some of the guys down the lineup respond in a big way, but if they hope to keep winning games maybe even win the division, they’ll need their big guns to once again step up.
Satander and Henderson were a combined 1/10 last night for just two bases and no runs or RBIs; that’ll need to change if they hope to compete in October.
