Who Will Lead the League in Home Runs in 2025?

Last year, Aaron Judge led the majors with 58 homers in 158 games. It was the second time in three seasons that Judge topped the league in round-trippers, following his American League-record 62-homer campaign in 2022.

The Yankees slugger was one of two players to reach the 50-home run mark in 2024. Shohei Ohtani reached it for the first time in his career in his first season with the Los Angeles Dodgers, walloping 54 long balls to easily top the National League charts.

Unsurprisingly, Judge and Ohtani scooped up MLB MVP honors thanks to their explosive exploits, with Judge claiming his second AL MVP and Ohtani adding his first NL MVP win to go with his two AL MVP wins in 2021 and 2023.

With the All-Star break now behind us, Judge and Ohtani are on pace to cross the 50-homer mark yet again.

But in the MLB home run leader charts, both sensational sluggers are looking up at the prodigious posterior of Mariners masher Cal “Big Dumper” Raleigh. With 38 home runs in 94 games at the All-Star break, the Se is on pace for 65 home runs, which would shatter Seattle’s regular season home run record and establish a new American League home run record.

Raleigh, Judge, Ohtani, Kyle Schwarber, and Eugenio Suarez all have 30+ home runs as the second half of the season begins and have separated themselves from the rest of the league, with no one else having more than 25 round-trippers. As such, odds at top online sportsbooks like BetOnline. have significantly trimmed their list of MLB home run leader contenders.
