The Dodgers lead the NL West by a solid seven games to both the San Diego Padres and the San Francisco Giants. The Arizona Diamondbacks are a few games behind them, but as of right now, the West is LA’s to lose. They’ll want to keep pumping out as many wins as they can this week to extend that lead.
As for the Brewers, they sit four games behind the Chicago Cubs in the NL Central. They are back at home after two series on the road, and they are tough team to beat in Milwaukee. The Brewers are 27-17 at home, even though their team batting average drops 20 points to .227 in their own ballpark.

Today we have two studs taking the mound. Both Yamamoto and Peralta are top 20 in MLB in both ERA and WHIP, both posting sub 3.00 and sub 1.10 numbers on the season.
Yamamoto has won his last two outings, allowing just one earned run on four hits and two walks in 12 innings pitched. He also struck out 14 total batters in those starts. His splits tell us that he is better on the road, even facing some of the tougher offenses in MLB (Guardians, Diamondbacks, and Phillies).
Peralta has been just as good. He’s won four straight starts, allowed less than three earned runs in all but one of his outings this season. The problem has been a lack of run support from the Brewers, especially at home, but could that change tonight?

I’ll admit, I am having a hard time finding a potential edge in this contest, but I’m going to back the away favorites in this game. This is the best price on the market currently, and the Dodgers are coming off getting swept by the Houston Astros.
Prior to the last series, the Dodgers were 9-1 in their last 10 games. They were due for a bit of a skid, and the pitching was a serious issue during that stretch. Tonight I see them bouncing back against a Brewers team that is just okay.
I haven’t been impressed with the Brewers bats, especially at home, and against Yamamoto, I don’t see them doing much. Give me a pitching duel between both starters, but I think the Dodgers find a way to squeak out a win somehow.
