Another day, another Shohei Ohtani elite rating on Batters-Box. The Dodgers star holds a .709 rating today against German Marquez and the Colorado Rockies. When Ohtani carries a rating above 0.60, he becomes an automatic bet. The trends speak for themselves:

I am not paying -114 for his total bases prop at 2.5. That price is not worth it. There is more value in taking his home run and double props instead. If he gets two hits or just a double, he still does not clear his bases total. I do expect plenty of success at the plate today, so take the higher-value paths. His home run price may be under 2/1, but at least you are not laying juice on three bases.
Ohtani also draws a dream matchup. Marquez is allowing nearly 50% hard contact over his last 97 innings. He rates poorly today across the board—matchup wOBA, ISO, strikeout rate, and ground ball rate. On the season, Marquez holds a 6.11 ERA and 1.64 WHIP. Opponents are hitting .315 against him with a .372 OBP, .477 SLG, and .849 OPS. Left-handed hitters vs. Marquez at Coors are batting .343 with a .552 slug and .411 wOBA.
