The Cardinals season has already been one they hope to forget. St. Louis sits in last place of the NL Central, and at 35-51 on the season. They are 12.5 games out of 1st place, and 5 games out of 4th in the division. It’s been a rough season.
On the other side of this matchup, the Marlins are sitting at 2nd in the NL East. However, they are still 8 whole games behind the Atlanta Braves who are leading the division and the National League.
Miami is in a great spot, but they will look to try and catch the Braves before October rolls around.

Will the Cardinals Avoid the Sweep?
If you saw how the game ended last night, you simply feel bad for all St. Louis fans around the world. The Marlins led 8-7 going into the 9th inning. St. Louis was down to their last strike when a Jordan Walker two-run homer gave the Redbirds a 9-8 lead, just three outs away from victory.
With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Joey Wendle blooped a one right back at the pitcher. Jordan Hicks looked to make a routine play, and they airmailed the ball over 1st base. Both runners would score on the throwing error, and the Marlins would walk it off 10-9.
That play pretty much summed up the Cardinals season.
I have little faith in the Cardinals, and I am sold on the Marlins. They rank 4th in hits and 3rd in team batting average, as well as being in the Top 10 in a multitude of other categories (Team WHIP, K/9, Runs Allowed, etc.).
They boast a 28-16 home record, and are 7-3 in their last 10 games.

Player Props
Jorge Soler over 1.5 Hits, Runs, & RBIs (-110)
Soler has cleared this line in 45% of games this season, but he has had some recent success. Now, he only bats .208 against RHP compared to .297 against lefties, however I think we bet on this due to his performance recently and the face that Miami should cruise against Jack Flaherty.
Soler has cleared this line every game this series, and he has a total of 15 HRRs in the three games that have been played so far. I see now reason he can’t do the same tonight.
Batting 2nd being Luis Arraez, Soler is in the perfect spot to knock him in after Luis gets on base. I think we see the Marlins put up big numbers against the Cardinals again tonight, and think Soler contributes to the success.
