Blue Jays vs. Yankees: The Bronx will be the center of attention tonight as the New York Yankees open a massive three-game series against the division-leading Toronto Blue Jays. With the Yankees sitting three games back and the Red Sox lurking just behind, the stakes could not be higher. New York has been scorching hot over the past month, climbing back into the thick of the AL East race, and now they have a chance to strike directly at the team they are chasing. The bats are alive, the energy is building, and this series may define the Yankees’ season.

The biggest stretch of the season for the New York Yankees and one of the biggest series of the month kicks off this evening in the Bronx. They host the AL East first place Blue Jays, who hold a three game lead ahead of the second place Yankees. The Red Sox are not far behind at three and a half games back. This is a must win series for the Bronx Bombers, and with how hot they have been over the last month this feels like another prime opportunity to make a push for the division lead.
Yankees Trends
New York enters today with the second highest rated offense on the slate. Their lineup features four elite rated hitters and two great rated hitters. They will face Kevin Gausman, who carries the third worst pitcher rating on Batters-Box current season ratings. His matchup metrics are poor across ISO, hard contact, and ground ball percentage.
Gausman has had some recent success against this lineup, holding them to a total of ten hits and three runs over 12 combined innings in two July starts. However, both of those games were played north of the border. Earlier in the season, the Yankees tagged Gausman for six runs on only three hits at home in New York. That type of outing feels due for New York this evening.
This Yankees offense has been humming over the last few weeks. They rank top five in wRC+, wOBA, ISO, OPS, hard contact, and walk rate across the last two weeks, while leading the league in barrel rate. Gausman has not faced an offense this hot on the road in some time. His last three road starts were against Miami, Pittsburgh, and Denver. That is hardly the same level of challenge.
That is why we are locked in on the Yankees first five team total over 2.5 at +105. This is a strong spot with a great price, and getting plus money on this offense feels like a gift.

I am holding a +475 ticket for the Yankees to win the AL East. On top of that, I have added another sweat for them to finish with the most wins this month at 7-to-1. If they continue heating up at the right time, pushing for the top spot, this price is too good to pass up. New York also has the eighth easiest remaining schedule in all of baseball. They still face the White Sox, Twins, and Orioles for a combined 13 games. Their tougher tests come in three-game sets against the Blue Jays, Tigers, and Red Sox. With 22 games left, they control their own destiny.
+700 is worth a swing. Maybe it wins, maybe it does not. Either way, it is a strong price for a team that has been among the league’s best offenses over the last three weeks.
This series against Toronto is the hinge point of the Yankees’ season. Win here, and momentum swings firmly in their favor for both the division race and the stretch run. Lose, and the uphill climb grows much steeper. With their bats as hot as they have been and plus money on the board, this is the time to back New York.
