MLB All-Star Game: American League vs. National League Picks & Predictions

Tarik Skubal starts tonight for the American League All Stars - All Star Game Picks

Tarik Skubal starts tonight for the American League All Stars

Look, this is the All-Star Game. It’s meant to be fun for the fans, and enjoyable for all. Let me be clear. This is not the game to drop a 10-unit whale on either side, the total, or any prop.

This matchup is for a few fun sprinkles here and there, and ultimately for all of us to watch some incredible baseball from all over the field. Pitchers and hitters alike will bring their best effort, as most will only see one inning on the mound, and just two at-bats at the plate if they are lucky.

With that being said, let’s dive in and see what we are working with in tonight’s All-Star Game!

Anyone want a history lesson?

The American League has won 10 of the last 11 All-Star Games, with their only loss since 2012 coming in 2023 in Seattle. Over the last 11 years, this total of seven is 5-4-2 to the under, pushing twice in 2019 and 2021. It went over last year by just one run, cashing for the first time since 2018.

We have Skubal and Skenes starting things off, but plenty of other great pitchers will be ready to come out of the bullpen. Historically, all pitchers will more than likely throw just one inning, with relievers sometimes throwing significantly less. As I stated above, take it easy on player props, especially overs. I would advise anyone to avoid them completely, but I know you sickos want some action tonight.

So, let’s get into my favorite MLB All-Star Game picks.

Best Bet: National League F5 ML (-110) BetOnline

A solid line, push potential, and we get to go to bed early! We’re hopefully getting in and out with a victory in the first five innings of the All-Star Game tonight.

I understand Tarik Skubal is on the mound, and I know how good he’s been. But he’s going to face Shohei Ohtani, Ronald Acuna Jr. and Ketel Marte, three extremely tough hitters, all batting at least .275 this season. Looking at the rest of the National League lineup, I simply like it more than their opponents.

The American League is starting players like Gleyber Torres and … *checks notes*… Javier Baez? Really? That guy’s an All-Star starter? Just compare that to the National League.

Ohtani, Acuna, Marte, Freddie Freeman, Manny Machado, Kyle Tucker, Francisco Lindor, PCA… the starters in that dugout are much better on paper in my eyes, and that’s enough for me to back them in this All-Star Game.

Please, please, please bet responsibly tonight. We’ve got a long second half of the season to wager on.
