The 2023 MLB postseason is underway and more action is on the horizon. Wednesday’s playoff schedule includes a pair of AL Wild Card Game 2’s as the Texas Rangers and Tampa Bay Rays square off at 3 p.m. ET before the Toronto Blue Jays and Minnesota Twins collide at 4:30 p.m. ET.

Rangers vs Rays Game 2 Prediction & Best Bet
Despite having the home-field advantage, the Rays couldn’t get anything going in Game 1. The visiting Rangers cruised to a 4-0 victory as LHP Jordan Montgomery struck out five batters over seven scoreless innings.
Having said that, I can’t see a 99-win team like the Rays getting swept. After all, there’s a reason why they’ve only lost back-to-back outings once since Sept. 3 — a 27-game span.
It’s also hard to trust the Rangers when Nathan Eovaldi hasn’t exactly been that great on the mound. The veteran hurler has pitched to a 12.96 ERA in his last two starts and just surrendered two HRs and seven earned runs over 3 1/3 innings in his most recent appearance on Sept. 29.
Eovaldi also tends to struggle on the road against the Rays, going 2-4 with a 6.94 ERA in his last eight trips to Tropicana Field.
I like the Rays’ chances of success with Zach Eflin on the mound. The 29-year-old righty hasn’t lost a start since August, going 3-0 with a 3.24 ERA and 39 strikeouts over his last six starts.
In other words, back Tampa Bay to even the series in, what should be, a close-fought affair.

Blue Jays vs Twins Game 2 Prediction & Best Bet
These two clubs were involved in a low-scoring affair on Tuesday, resulting in a 3-1 win for the Twins. The victory was a huge one for Minnesota as it snapped the organization’s 18-game playoff losing streak.
It’s hard to bet against that momentum, which is exactly why I have the Twins winning Game 2 and completing the AL Wild Card sweep.
The Jays just aren’t trending in the right direction, having lost each of their last three games. Teams are supposed to be building momentum at this time of the year, which is the opposite of what Toronto has been doing, getting outscored 22-14 on aggregate in those losses.
The Blue Jays’ chances of success also hinge on which version of Jose Berrios shows up. The ex-Twin picked up losses in his last two starts, pitching to a 6.17 ERA along the way.
Considering how the Twins have scored six or more runs five times in their last eight games, I trust Minnesota’s bats to be productive enough to get the job done tonight.
