I have been searching all season for a team to fully ride with in October, and I still cannot decide who truly has the juice to win it all. There are plenty of qualified clubs in the field, but I have little confidence in any of them. One thing I do believe: whoever emerges from the National League will be crowned champion. The American League contenders do not feel nearly as dangerous as the National League heavyweights. If you want to pair the National League to win the World Series at $1.60 with another future, I would not consider that a poor strategy.
Who Is Coming Out of the AL?
Every week the same conversations surface. Could it be the Mariners? Could it be the Blue Jays? Or are we staring at another Yankees run? A rematch of last year is not as far-fetched as it sounds. As a lifelong Yankees fan, I am hoping that is not the case. For one, I am convinced a National League team lifts the trophy this season. For another, I do not trust the Yankees bullpen to hold up through the grind of October.
Looking around the board, there are intriguing division-based wagers. At +300, betting on an AL East team to win the World Series is not the worst sprinkle, especially when you get three legitimate shots at it. The same could be said for the NL West. The Giants sit only a game and a half back of a Wild Card spot, which means we could see three teams from that division in the mix.
As for the “First Time Winner” market, I would suggest staying away unless you truly believe it is the year for the Mariners, Brewers, or Padres. Instead of taking the group option, bet them individually. With two of those three teams sitting at 10-to-1 or better, the value is far stronger backing them outright.
October baseball always delivers drama, and this year feels no different. While the American League offers plenty of uncertainty, the National League looks primed to produce the eventual champion. Division props like the AL East or NL West carry value, but the “First Time Winner” market feels too risky unless you have a strong conviction on one team. For me, the path is simple: trust the National League, find creative ways to pair it with futures, and look for spots where value outweighs the hype. The hunt for a World Series winner is wide open, and that is what makes it fun.
