This year’s men’s Royal Rumble match is one of the most unpredictable in recent years. Several superstars are more than worthy of being the last many standing, however, I’m sticking with the favorite and picking CM Punk to win it all.
CM Punk created shockwaves across pro wrestling when he returned to the WWE at Survivor Series 2023.
Punk is back in the WWE to accomplish things that he didn’t in his first tenure, which includes winning the Royal Rumble and main eventing WrestleMania. I just can’t see him returning without knowing that he was going to achieve both of those things to help round out his accomplishment list before finishing his career. Besides, they’ve already been teasing a potential Punk vs. Seth Rollins clash at WrestleMania, and winning the men’s Rumble would be the next step to getting there.
If you’re unsure about Punk winning, it wouldn’t hurt to also consider Cody Rhodes. Every fan knows that he’s dead-set on “finishing the story” and winning the rumble would give him a rematch against Roman Reigns from last year’s WrestleMania unless the WWE plans on having Rhodes prove himself inside of the Elimination Chamber next month.
There’s also been a buzz about The Rock potentially facing Reigns at WrestleMania, but his winning the Royal Rumble would probably upset a lot of fans seeing as how the Hollywood star hasn’t wrestled a full match in nearly 11 years.
In what should be quite an unpredictable match, let’s stick with Punk.

Bayley (+100) and Becky Lynch (+200) stick out as the two biggest favorites to win the 2024 women’s Rumble. Although either woman (and many others ) is more than deserving of winning this match, I’m going with Bayley to pick up the win.

Becky Lynch has already had her WrestleMania moments and now it’s time for Bayley to do the same. It’s been nearly four years since Bayley last held single’s gold and winning the Royal Rumble would put her on a path to end that drought. Fans have already been predicting that she’ll face fellow Damage CTRL member and Smackdown Women’s Champion Iyo Sky at WM40, so I could see the champ getting the rest of the group to turn on Bayley after she wins.
If you’re looking for a dark horse pick, Jade Cargill is a solid choice. WWE has been hyping her up to be quite the big deal after signing her months ago, so it’d only be fitting that she’d outlast 29 other women to win her debut at Tropicana Field.

Undisputed WWE Universal Championship Prediction & Odds

Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns puts his title on the line against Randy Orton, LA Knight, and AJ Styles in this fatal four-way match. Even though the odds should be stacked against the champion, Reigns heads into this title match as the massive -3000 favorite to retain. And you know what? I agree with oddsmakers.
Will Roman Reigns leave the Royal Rumble 2024 with the gold around his waist?
I just don’t see the WWE ending Reigns’ historic run to put the gold on any of the challengers. Orton just came back in November and doesn’t need the rub while Knight and Styles seem more likely to face off against each other at WrestleMania after the rivalry that’s been brewing over the last few weeks.
The WWE has spent the last few years building up Reigns’ reign and ending at any non-WrestleMania event would be a deflating conclusion. Although it’ll be a fun match with some near-falls, don’t overthink it: the Tribal Chief will remain champion.

United States Championship Prediction & Odds
- Logan Paul (-2000)
- Kevin Owens (+700)
Kevin Owens won a multi-round tournament to earn the right to face Logan Paul for the WWE United States Championship at the Royal Rumble. The rivalry between these two opposite personalities has only grown more with each passing show, culminating with Thursday’s brawl at the WWE Performance Center.

I’m kind of torn on this matchup. On one hand, Paul has exceeded all expectations since joining the WWE and reports suggest that he recently signed a full-time contract. If that’s the case, I could see the WWE giving more time to his reign.
On the other hand, Owens is doing some of his best work at the moment and the fans are fully supporting him. The veteran Canadian brawler also hasn’t held solo gold in nearly seven years, so what better way to get back on track than by beating up one of the biggest social media stars at the moment?
Even though my head says Paul is retaining, I’m taking Owens to pull off the upset. I think he has better than +700 odds to take the straw off Paul and doing so would be a solid way to extend what’s be an entertaining feud. Besides, Paul can easily win it back in a rematch down the line.

Big E to appear during the show? — Yes (+2000)
Former WWE Champion Big E has been sidelined for nearly two years after a serious neck injury. Although this prop implies that he won’t show up, I’m not so sure about that. It was last July that Big E said he felt 100% about his neck and just needed clearance from doctors. Considering how he appeared on WWE’s The Bump earlier this week and that the Rumble is known for surprise returns, this prop could wind up paying off in a big way.

Ironman in Royal Rumble match — Cody Rhodes (+100) or Gunther (+250)
Cody Rhodes was the ironman at the 2023 Royal Rumble, last just over an hour and 11 minutes. With how determined he is to finish the story this year, I wouldn’t be surprised if he did it again considering how fans love an uphill battle for a babyface. At the same time, I could see Gunther being the ironman, too. He lasted 52 minutes last year and prides himself in being a workhorse, so another near-60-minute performance is a real possibility.
Kazuchika Okada to appear during the show? — Yes (+200)
Kazuchika Okada — one of the biggest stars in Japanese pro wrestling history — announced last week that he was leaving New Japan Pro Wrestling. With the WWE being a place he’s yet to concur, a lot of fans are fantasizing about his potentially debuting at the Royal Rumble. Although he’s rumored to also be considering All Elite Wrestling as a destination, it’s interesting that a potential appearance on Saturday sits at +200 odds.
Naomi to appear during the show? — Yes (-400)
After leaving the WWE last March, former women’s champion Naomi is favored to appear at the Royal Rumble at -400 odds. She most recently worked as Trinity Fatu in TNA Wrestling, but recent reports indicate that her contract with the company is up and that a WWE return is the most likely outcome. Considering how the backstage dynamic is much different than when she left a year ago, I’d be surprised if Naomi didn’t show up tomorrow.
