Will DeChambeau Achieve Rare Tournament Feat at Oakmont?
Last year, Bryson DeChambeau capitalized on a late collapse by McIlroy at Pinehurst to win his second U.S. Open, following his 2020 win at Winged Foot.
After finishing tied for fifth at The Masters and tied for second at the PGA Championship, DeChambeau is expected to be in the mix at Oakmont, where he finished tied for 15th at the last U.S. Open there in 2016.
DeChambeau is looking for what would be a rather rare U.S. Open repeat. The most recent repeat winner is Brooks Koepka, who won the tournament in 2017 and 2018.
Since World War II, the only golfers to win the U.S. Open in consecutive years are Koepka, Ben Hogan (1950 and 1951), and Curtis Strange (1988 and 1989), and the only other golfers in tournament history to repeat are Willie Anderson (1903-05), John McDermott (1911-12), Bobby Jones (1929-30), and Ralph Guldahl (1937-38).
Will Scheffler or McIlroy add to their 2025 haul? The last golfer to win the PGA Championship and U.S. Open in the same year was Koepka, who did so in 2018. The last golfer to win The Masters and U.S. Open in the same year was Jordan Spieth, who did so in 2015.

Where is the 2025 U.S. Open being held?
The 2025 U.S. Open will be played at Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont and Plum, Pennsylvania, which are suburbs of Pittsburgh.
