Low Saturday Scores Lead to Leaderboard Logjam
In the third round, 18 of the 68 golfers who made the cut short 5-under or better. In total, 49 golfers went under par yesterday.
With the leaders set to tee off this afternoon, there are 15 golfers who finished Saturday within three shots of the lead.
Sitting at the top are Ryan Fox and Matteo Manassero at 14-under, both of whom shot 6-under 64 yesterday. Lee Hodges and Kevin Yu, two of the three golfers who tied for the low round of the day (7-under 63), are a shot back. The lone Canadian in close contention, Mackenzie Hughes, is one of three at 12-under for the tournament.
The RBC Canadian Open is the third oldest tournament on the PGA Tour (in terms of continuously running events), dating back to 1904. But since the end of the World War I, Pat Fletcher (1954) and Nick Taylor (2023) are the only Canadians to win the tournament. With Hughes, Adam Hadwin (-10), Taylor Pendrith (-10), and Taylor (-10) all within four shots of the lead, there’s a chance a rare home win could take place.
But as it stands, Fox and Manassero are the two have the edge on the rest of the field, according to the leaderboard and to the latest RBC Canadian Open winner odds.

Trying to pick a winner when there are so many golfers in the mix is a tough ask. But among the collection of contenders, Fox and Hughes are a couple of compelling options.
Fox earned his first PGA Tour win last month when he defeated Hughes and Harry Higgs in a playoff at the Myrtle Beach Classic. He followed that up with a couple of decent results at the PGA Championship and Memorial Tournament.
In addition to his Myrtle Beach Classic runner-up finish, Hughes finished tied for third at the RBC Heritage in April and tenth at the Texas Children’s Houston Open at the back end of March.
Additionally, if you plan to do some live betting on today’s final round, Lowry could be one to watch. Players with his experience and pedigree are always worth a follow in tournaments with a weaker field relative to bigger events, so if he starts to make a charge, monitor the live line movement of his odds.
Other RBC Canadian Open Sunday Picks

Burns, who is evens to card a 67 (4-under) or better, has found some form after a bumpy stretch in March and part of April. In his last six tournaments, Burns has posted five top-20 finishes. And it is worth noting that in both tournaments this season in which he shot in the 60s in the first three rounds, he shot 67 (4-under at the RBC Heritage) and 65 (6-under at the Byron Nelson) in the final round.
Hughes to tally a 68 (2-under) or better at -145 is worth a look, even with the juice in mind. There might be some added pressure on him to win his home event, but the two times he has been in contention this year, he carded a 4-under 67 to close out the RBC Heritage and a 4-under 67 to close out the Myrtle Beach Classic.
Lastly, Fox to card a 67 or better at odds of +120 is a strong play after he put together rounds of 66, 66, and 64 on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
