This year has been a memorable one for men’s golf majors.

The 2019 Open took place at Royal Portrush, where Lowry won by six strokes over Tommy Fleetwood to tie for the third-largest margin of victory in the tournament’s history as a 72-hole tournament.
Lowry and Fleetwood are expected to be two of the top contenders in the Open’s return to Royal Portrush, which is hosting the tournament for the third time ever. Lowry has not won a solo PGA Tour-sanctioned event since that victory (he and Rory McIlroy teamed up to win the Zurich Classic of New Orleans last year), while Fleetwood is still searching for his first win in a PGA Tour-sanctioned event after agonizingly stumbling in the final stretch at the Travelers Championship last month.
