The 2025 DP World Tour season is winding down, with just two events before the season wraps up with two playoff events in the UAE. First up this week is a new event on the tour’s schedule, the DP World India Championship.
This new event will feature some big names as well, with Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood, Viktor Hovland, Shane Lowry, and Ben Griffin a part of the field. For McIlroy, Hovland, and Griffin, it will be their first tournament action since the Ryder Cup.
This week’s event at Delhi Golf Club is a big event for many, as it is the penultimate event of the Back 9 series of tournaments, which feature elevated Race to Dubai points. Next week’s Genesis Championship in South Korea is the final Back 9 event and will determine the field of 70 that will take part in the first playoff event, the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, from November 6-9.
McIlroy sits atop the Race to Dubai rankings and will look to secure the Harry Vardon Trophy for the seventh time (and fourth straight) at the season-ending DP World Tour Championship next month.
But there are several golfers in the DP World India Championship field who need to have a good week to help their hopes of being on the right side of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship bubble, such as Guido Migliozzi (76th), Julien Guerrier (77th), and Jeff Winther (78th).
That trio, as well as the rest of the field, are looking up at McIlroy, who is the favorite at top online sportsbooks such as BetOnline.

DP World India Championship Predictions and Picks
Tournament Winner Pick: Tommy Fleetwood
McIlroy is a compelling pick, but Fleetwood gets the nod from me this week.
If he is interested in being a part of the DP World Tour playoffs, there is some added incentive to contend for the win, as he enters the DP World India Championship 94th in the Race to Dubai rankings.
A win would lock him into the both the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship and DP World Tour Championship, and a top-two finish could move him inside the top 50, which is the cutoff for next month’s season finale at Jumeirah Golf Estates.
Fleetwood finished tied for 21st at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship two weeks ago in his first post-Ryder Cup event and tied for 46th at the BMW PGA Championship prior to the Ryder Cup.
But I like his chances to return to the form that saw him finish his PGA Tour campaign with a flourish and go 4-1-0 at the Ryder Cup, and I’m also locking him for the top five (+160) and top 10 (-115).
Other DP World India Championship Picks
Ben Griffin to finish in the Top 10 (+100 at BetOnline)
Griffin did not get much of an opportunity in his Ryder Cup debut, which captain Keegan Bradley may have some regrets about given how things finished on Sunday. He played one match on Friday, teaming up with Bryson DeChambeau for a 1-up loss to Fleetwood and Justin Rose, didn’t play on a sorry Saturday for the U.S., then defeated Rasmus Hojgaard in his singles match. He can certainly hold his head higher than some of his more seasoned teammates.
It has been a memorable year for Griffin, and he enters the DP World India Championship with 11 top-15 finishes his last 13 events, including seven top-10 finishes. In his most recent tournament, he came second to Scottie Scheffler in the Procore Championship.
In a field that doesn’t feature a wealth of other big names, Griffin should shine and contend for the win. That makes a play on him to land in the top five (+200 at BetOnline) also an option.
Anirban Lahiri to Finish in the Top 20 (+150 at BetOnline)
Lahiri has more intimate knowledge of this week’s course than most others in the DP World India Championship field, as he owns three professional wins at Delhi GC.
In 2012 and 2013, he won the SAIL-SBI Open, a Professional Golf Tour of India event. And in 2015, he won the Hero Indian Open (a joint-Asian Tour and DP World Tour event) there.
Lahiri’s year with LIV Golf was a mixed bag, as he finished in the top 20 in five individual events. But at a course very familiar to him, he should be at or near his best. That should be good enough to see him finish inside the top 20, and a top-10 finish (+330 at BetOnline) is also a great value play.
