While 10 of the 12 members of the U.S. Ryder Cup team are teeing it up at the Procore Championship this week to get some competitive holes in before the big event later this month, 11 of 12 members of Europe’s Ryder Cup team will be in action at the same time at the BMW PGA Championship.
The only member of Team Europe who will not be participating in one of the most prestigious events on the DP World Tour calendar is Sepp Straka, who opted not to play this week after he and his wife welcomed their second child recently.
The BMW PGA Championship field includes notable names like Hideki Matsuyama, two-time tournament winner Billy Horschel, former Masters champion Patrick Reed, and Corey Conners, who is coming off a solid 2025 PGA Tour campaign.
But the field at Wentworth will be led by Europe’s biggest names, including newly-minted Tour Championship winner and FedEx Cup champion Tommy Fleetwood and 2025 Masters champion Rory McIlroy.
McIlroy, who also won the Players Championship and AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am during the PGA Tour season, won the Amgen Irish Open last week, defeating Sweden’s Joakim Lagergen in a playoff.
This week, he will try to win at Wentworth for the second time. He won the BMW PGA Championship in 2014, which was his most recent major championship-winning year until his decade-long drought ended at Augusta this year. McIlroy also has three runner-up finishes in the tournament, in 2018, 2022, and last year, when he and Thriston Lawrence lost out to Horschel in a playoff.
As should be expected in an event that does not feature Scottie Scheffler, McIlroy is the BMW PGA Championship favorite. Ahead of the opening round, he sits ahead of Fleetwood and Jon Rahm, a two-time runner-up in the event.

BetOnline Offering Boosted BMW PGA Odds for McIlroy
If you are backing McIlroy to win, you are getting rather decent value. That is especially when you stack it up with his 2024 BMW PGA Championship odds and his odds for his last two PGA Tour events, the BMW Championship (+850) and Tour Championship (+800).
But BetOnline is sweetening the pot even further for McIlroy bettors, courtesy of one of their daily odds boosters.
If you take the odds booster in time, you can get McIlroy at +725 instead. While this is not a massive boost, you cannot find odds this good at any other top online sportsbooks.
So, if you place a $100 bet on McIlroy to win the BMW PGA Championship through the odds booster, you can bag an extra $25 if he bags the win. Whether you use that extra $25 to celebrate and treat yourself and a companion to the 2 for $25 at Applebee’s or flip it into a bet on some Sunday night or Monday night NFL action, that’s an extra $25 that you would not have had otherwise.
And if you want some additional action on McIlroy’s week at Wentworth, he is -130 to finish in the top 10 and +150 to finish in the top five. Neither of those are boosted, but those are both well worth the investment when these are the most recent BMW PGA Championship results for McIlroy:
- 2024: t-2nd (lost in playoff)
- 2023: t-7th
- 2022: t-2nd
- 2018: 2nd
What are you waiting for? Head on over to BetOnline (where new players can get a 55% welcome bonus up to $250, plus 100 free slots spins to use at BetOnline Casino) and lock in those McIlroy bets, boosted and otherwise.
