Since the Ottawa Redblacks entered the CFL over a decade ago, they have had very little success against the rival Toronto Argonauts. This season, the first Redblacks vs. Argonauts matchup went the way of Toronto. Is the same outcome ahead for today’s matchup at BMO Field (3:00 p.m. ET, CBS Sports Network)?
Wins have been hard to come by for both teams this season, but who will rise to the occasion as the rivalry is renewed this afternoon? Read on for our Redblacks vs. Argonauts prediction and expert picks and find out which top U.S. sportsbooks offer the best betting value for the game’s best bets.

Redblacks vs. Argonauts Prediction and Picks
To date, the Argonauts’ only road win this season came in Week 4, when they rode two return touchdowns by Derek Slywka to a 29-16 win over the Redblacks.
It was Toronto’s 21st win in 27 all-time matchups in this rivalry, and while Slywka made the difference with his 105-yard scoop and score and a 120-yard return of a missed field goal, it was yet another game in which the Argonauts put a decent number on the scoreboard.
Of their 21 wins over the Redblacks, the Argos have scored 29 or more points 13 times, including each of the last three wins.
Last Five Redblacks vs. Argonauts Games
- June 29, 2025 (Ottawa): Toronto 29, Ottawa 16
- November 2, 2024 (Toronto): Toronto 58, Ottawa 38
- October 19, 2024 (Toronto): Toronto 38, Ottawa 31
- September 7, 2024 (Ottawa): Ottawa 41, Toronto 27
- October 28, 2023 (Ottawa): Toronto 27, Ottawa 22
Scoring 31 points last at Winnipeg last week was not enough one week after it was enough to upset the Blue Bombers at home, but Toronto does at least continue to score points. Since scoring a combined 29 points in their first two games this season, the Argos have averaged 31 points per game in their last six games and hit the 30-point mark four times.
Nick Arbuckle was not efficient in the rematch with the Blue Bombers after producing arguably his best performance of the season in the Week 8 win at BMO Field, but he still threw for 327 yards on 22 of 39 passing. He also had two touchdown tosses for the fifth time this season, connecting with Damonte Coxie on both scores.
Arbuckle’s best performances this season have come at home, so expect him to be better this afternoon. That will help tilt this Redblacks vs. Argonauts matchup in favor of the home team. Ottawa’s offense just does not have the juice to keep up.
The Redblacks did score three offensive touchdowns in last week’s 31-11 win over the shorthanded Calgary Stampeders, but they have scored 20+ points in consecutive games just once this season. And even with last week’s result, they entered this week bringing up the rear in the league’s scoring charts at a mere 22.4 PPG.
Even if they do hit that mark today, it’s unlikely to be enough to keep the Argos from tallying yet another win in this one-sided rivalry. And the win should come with at least one score for Coxie, who has scored in each of the last four games.
